When there is a lack of space and the teeth are very mounted or turned on themselves.
The solution: Comprehensive allows us to perform arch expansion and planned stripping (millimeter filing) to create space and place each piece in its exact location.
Posterior Crossbite
When the upper molars bite inside the lower ones, causing asymmetry and pain when chewing.
The treatment: We progressively expand the dento-alveolar palate so that the upper arch “embraces” the lower arch correctly.
Open Bite (Difficulty closing)
The anterior teeth do not contact. It is one of the most difficult cases to treat with braces.
The advantage: Aligners are excellent here because they exert a posterior intrusive pressure (they slightly push the molars in) which helps to close the front bite more quickly and stably.
Class II and Class III (Jaw Problems)
Misalignments where the jaw is very forward or very far behind the maxilla.
Advanced mechanics: We use “precision cutouts” in the aligners to place intermaxillary elastics (rubber bands) that correct the position of the bones while aligning the teeth.
Multidisciplinary Treatments
Ideal if you need orthodontics before getting implants or veneers.
Preparation: We move the teeth to leave the exact space for the implant or to align the gum margin before an aesthetic smile design.
Is it as effective as braces in difficult cases?
Yes. The biomechanics of aligner treatment have evolved enormously. With the use of attachments (small composite reliefs) and elastics, we have the same control over the tooth root as with braces, but with much greater hygiene and comfort.
How long does a comprehensive treatment last?
It depends on each patient’s biology, but complex cases typically take between 12 and 24 months. The good news is that, unlike with braces, you’ll know the exact estimated duration before you even begin, thanks to the ClinCheck software.
What are "Refinements" and are they included?
Sometimes, after completing the series of aligners, a stubborn tooth might need a final “push” to achieve perfect alignment. With the Comprehensive plan, these extra aligners (refinements) are included in the price for a period of 5 years, ensuring a perfect result.
Do I have an age limit?
Absolutely not. We have patients in their 50s, 60s, and 70s with Invisalign Comprehensive. As long as you have teeth and your bone is healthy (without active periodontal disease), we can move them. It’s never too late to fix your smile.
Does it hurt more as it is a complex case?
