Do braces hurt?
They don’t hurt when you put them in. However, after each adjustment (tightening), it’s normal to feel pressure or sensitivity when chewing for 2 or 3 days. This is a sign that your teeth are moving. It’s easily managed with mild pain relievers and a soft diet.
What can't I eat?
You should avoid very hard or sticky foods that could dislodge the brackets (such as corn nuts, hard nougat, biting into whole apples, or chewing sticky gum). You can eat most foods, but cut them into small pieces before putting them in your mouth.
How long does the treatment last?
The average treatment time ranges from 18 to 24 months, depending on the complexity. Metal braces are usually slightly faster than aesthetic braces for certain movements.
Will my teeth get stained?
